Welcome.

I find writing about myself perhaps one of the most difficult tasks to ever exist. But if you’re here, I guess that’s what you’re looking for. So without further ado, “ALLONS-Y!!!” (biscuit if you get the reference)

Several years ago, I left my home in Knoxville, TN to pursue acting. It was the first time in my life I had seen my father cry. My parents didn’t think, and still don’t think, that acting is a career in which I will be able to survive. I believe much of that is due to a fear caused by the lack of representation in the industry and the lack of opportunity.

That is why I pursue this career – if you can change how Asians are portrayed in the media, you change how Asians are perceived in real life. I want to show the world that we are not the feeble, demure, asexual, or hyper-sexualised people that we have formerly been depicted as. When we are portrayed as complicated, broken and vulnerable, only then can we be seen as human beings.

In 2020, I graduated from CalArts with my MFA in Acting. Since then, I have had the fortune of working on numerous projects, including Twisted Little Lies (Lifetime feature film), as well as the English dubbing voices for many animes and Korean dramas, including Heavenly Delusion (available on Hulu), Alchemy of Souls, and Somebody (both available on Netflix).

I am currently in rehearsals for The Far Country at Yale Rep, by Lloyd Suh and directed by Ralph B. Peña, playing April 26th - May 18th. A play that explores the sacrifices people made and the disheartening discrimination that took place during the Chinese Exclusion Act, The Far Country serves as a mirror to the many injustices that endure today. Thank you for taking the time today to explore my work, and please feel free to get in touch.
